- Provides and manages direct patient care, including physical examinations, evaluations, assessments, diagnoses and treatment as a Family Medicine Physician, in both the inpatient and outpatient settings.
- Prescribes pharmaceuticals, other medications, and treatment regimens as appropriate to assessed medical conditions.
- Refers patients to specialists and to relevant patient care components as appropriate.
- Directs and coordinates the patient care activities of nursing and support staff as required.
- Takes part in providing on-call coverage for hospital services.
- Trains and supervises medical students and residents engaged in specialty activities and procedures, as appropriate.
- Follows established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives, Medical Staff Bylaws, continuous quality improvement objectives, and safety, environmental, and/or infection control standards.
- As appropriate to the position, participates in specified health promotion, education and/or prevention programs.
- Works willingly and accepts assignments as given.
- Attends all mandatory meetings and programs.
- Participates in opportunities that enhance personal and professional growth.
- Performs other duties as necessary or assigned.
- Complies with the Corporate Compliance Policy and all laws, regulations, and Standards of Conduct relating to the position and agrees to report any suspected violations of law or Standards of Conduct.
- Complies with all applicable state and federal regulations.
- Maintains a safe work environment using safe work practices, utilizing standard precautions and complying with hazardous waste procedures at all times as described in St. Anthony's Safety Manual.
- Maintains the confidentiality of patient, resident, employee and organizational information.
Description

Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty and responsibility satisfactory. Education, Licenses, Certifications
- Graduate of an accredited MD or DO medical program.
- Graduate of a Family Medicine Residency program.
- Fellowship training in obstetrical care preferred, but not required.
- Certification/Licensure:
State of Iowa Licensure and CSA certification. Federal DEA Certification;
Board certified or Board Eligible in Specified Area of Medical Specialty. - Basic and Advanced Life Support for adults.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support.
