Travel RN - ICU

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a CCU night shift position requiring an IA or compact license and 3 years of CCU experience.

• Active RN license (IA state or compact) required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA)
• Minimum 3 years of CCU experience required
• Minimum 1 year of travel nursing experience required
• BSN not required
• TNCC, NIHSS, and PALS certifications preferred
• Experience managing titratable drips required

• CCU unit within an acute care, Critical Access Hospital (Trauma Level
  4)
• 6 CCU-level beds that flex to accommodate Med Surg Peds patients as needed
• Nurse to patient ratio goal of 1:2, up to 1:4 depending on acuity and unit needs
• Common diagnoses include CHF, pneumonia, COPD, sepsis, and DKA
• RNs manage titratable drips such as Cardizem, insulin, and nor epinephrine
• RT coverage is daytime only; nights and weekends RNs manage Bipap, vents, and other RT needs with House Supervisor support
• RT equipment includes CPAP, Bipap (V60), Vapotherm, and Hamilton vent
• CCU nurses monitor their own telemetry with no dedicated monitor techs
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts on a 6-week cyclic schedule
• Weekend rotation required every third weekend (Fri/Sat/Sun or flexible to Sat/Sun/Mon)
• Floating required to Med Surg Peds; cross‑training to Behavioral Health or ER optional
• Uses MEDITECH EMR
• Collaborate with a Charge Nurse overseeing both CCU and Med Surg Peds and a House Supervisor overseeing the hospital and nursing home
• Patients are followed by private physicians; ER physician responds to codes/emergencies
• Two 12‑hour shifts of unit‑specific orientation provided
• Scrubs may be grey, black, pink, or white in any combination
• Holiday coverage required based on contract season (one major and one minor holiday)
• Must be aware of and support unit quality initiatives and projects
• Positive, team‑oriented culture with an emphasis on collaboration and support
• Candidates must reside within a 50-mile radius of the facility
• First‑time travelers may be considered
