Salary: $19.00 – $25.00 per hour

Our Underground Utility Locators are responsible, self‑motivated individuals who enjoy the freedom of working outdoors. We will train the right individual who is committed to safety, comfortable working on their own, pays close attention to detail, and takes pride in completing a job well done.

They drive a company vehicle to job sites and use computer utility maps along with specialized equipment to find underground cables, pipes and other utilities to prevent damages and ensure safety within the excavation, landscaping and construction community.

• Drive a company vehicle directly from home to job sites in response to routine ticket requests, emergencies, and relocations.
• Utilize mapping tools and locating equipment to identify underground utilities such as electric, gas, telephone, and other communication lines.
• Mark utility locations with paint, flags, and communicate relevant information to excavation personnel or authorities.
• Respond to after‑hours emergency call‑outs according to the established rotation schedule.

• Computer Skills
• Valid driver’s license in the applicable state of employment
• Ability to work overtime when duties cannot be performed within a normal schedule
• Will undergo Vannguard’s Drug‑Free Workplace Program and complete pre‑employment drug screening
• Self‑management and timely communication with supervisors and clients

• Drive 50–300+ miles daily as required by geographic area
• Get in and out of vehicle 50+ times a day
• Stand and walk lengthy distances (1+ mile) over uneven terrain in all weather conditions
• Sit for long periods while driving
• Lift and/or move 50–150 pounds
• Work outdoors in all weather conditions

• High school diploma or equivalent (Required)
• Driver’s License (Required)
