Underground Utility Locator
Join to apply for the Underground Utility Locator role at Vannguard Utility Partners, Inc.
Salary: $20.00 - $26.00 per hour.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities- Drive a company vehicle from home to job sites in response to routine ticket requests, emergencies, and relocations.
- Utilize provided mapping tools and locating equipment to find underground utilities including electric, gas, telephone, and other communication lines.
- Indicate utility locations using paint, flags, and communicate relevant information to excavation personnel or appropriate authorities.
- Respond to after‑hours emergency call‑outs in accordance with the established rotation schedule.

- Ability to work overtime when duties cannot be performed within a normal schedule
- Subject to Vannguard’s Drug‑Free Workplace Program and pre‑employment drug screening
- Ability to self‑manage and communicate with supervisors and clients in a timely manner
- Drive 50–300+ miles daily as required by the assigned geographic locating area
- Get in and out of vehicle 50+ times a day
- Stand and walk lengthy distances (1+ mile) over uneven terrain in all weather conditions
- Sit for long periods while driving
- Lift and/or move 50–150 pounds
- Work outdoors in all weather conditions
- High school or equivalent (required)
- Driver’s license (required)
- Multiple locations
- Open to applicants with military experience
Full‑time
COVID‑19 ConsiderationsPosition is outdoors and involves minimal contact and interaction with others.
Schedule- 10‑hour shift
- Monday to Friday
- On call
- Overtime
- Computer skills: 1 year (preferred)
- Utility locating: 1 year (preferred)
