The UGE Laborer/Groundman is responsible for preparing and cleaning construction sites, loading and unloading building materials, operating equipment and machines, and assisting craft workers with their duties. This position supports the Construction team and works closely with department personnel.

• Clean and prepare the construction site for work, removing debris and potential hazards.
• Assist tradesmen in completing their skilled tasks more effectively.
• Identify utilities and monitor dig crew activity to prevent utility hits.
• Clean up and maintain equipment.
• Restock trucks with supplies, ensuring crews have the proper tools and materials to complete the job.

Minimum

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license.

Preferred

• 1 year of relevant experience.
• CDL Class A driver’s license.

This job operates in a field environment and routinely requires extended periods of bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting, and twisting. Workers may also be exposed to inclement weather conditions, such as extreme heat or cold, rain, ice, snow, and wind. The position requires the ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and maintain clear vision and hand‑eye coordination.
