The Department of General Education at the University of West Georgia seeks a Lecturer in First‑Year Mathematics to begin August 1, 2026. Responsibilities include teaching four sections of mathematics courses each semester, engaging in service activities, and participating in professional development aimed at enhancing pedagogical skills for first‑year students.

• Teach four sections of mathematics courses each semester.
• Provide service to the department, college, university, community, and profession.
• Engage in professional development activities with emphasis on student success in general‑education courses.
• Foster student success by creating a supportive learning environment.

• Master’s degree in Mathematics or a related field.
• Experience teaching first‑year mathematics students in a face‑to‑face setting.

• Doctorate (PhD) in Mathematics or a related field.
• Experience teaching in fully online or hybrid modalities.
• Experience teaching co‑requisite learning support.

Salary is commensurate with experience and contingent on funding. Work is normally performed in a typical interior environment. Tasks may involve lifting up to 15 lbs.
