America Reads/America Counts is a federal work‑study tutoring program that allows UWG students, who qualify for Federal Work‑Study, to assist children in local schools to improve their reading and math skills. The America Reads America Counts (ARAC) Federal Work‑Study program needs dependable and enthusiastic UWG students who enjoy working with elementary and/or middle school children during the traditional school day and/or after‑school hours.

Tutors will work under the supervision of a classroom teacher and/or after‑school program coordinator. Our partner schools include:

• Sharp Creek Elementary:
  Availability for traditional school day and/or after‑school hours
• Carrollton City Schools (Lower Elementary, Upper Elementary, and Middle School):
  Availability after 1:45pm (elementary after‑school) and/or 3:00pm (middle after‑school)

• Currently have and maintain a minimum 2.5 grade‑point average.
• Must be enrolled in a minimum of six credit hours.
• Have reliable transportation to and from the assigned school.
