Job Summary

Operate gasoline, liquefied gas, or electric industrial trucks equipped with a variety of lifting devices—including forklift, boom, scoop, lift beam, or swivel hook, fork grapple, clamps, elevating platform, or trailer hitch—to push, pull, lift, stack, tier, or move products, equipment, or materials.

Essential Functions
  • Move levers and press pedals to drive the truck and control the lifting apparatus.
  • Position forks, lifting platform, or other lifting device under, over, or around loaded pallets, skids, boxes, products, or materials and transport the load to a designated area.
  • Unload and stack material by raising and lowering the lifting device.
  • Inventory materials on the work floor, providing workers with materials as needed.
  • Weigh materials or products and record weight on tags, labels, or production schedules.
  • Load or unload materials onto or off pallets, skids, or the lifting device.
  • Lubricate the truck, recharge or change batteries, fill the fuel tank, or replace a liquefied gas tank.
  • May be assigned work in a subzero freezer area with proper company PPE provided.
  • Follow plant food‑safety policies and industry best practices.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Perform other similar or related duties as requested or assigned.

  • Acquire knowledge of Trident’s environmental and safety policies by completing required training programs and performing designated work activities in accordance with training and procedures/work instructions.
  • Notify designated personnel of any environmental or safety incidents or risks not previously documented, in accordance with environmental awareness and/or safety trainings.

Minimum Qualifications
  • One year of certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must be forklift certified, or able to forklift certified, and qualify for lift‑truck certification within 2 weeks of assignment.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to perform basic arithmetic in various units of measure, compute rates, ratios, and percentages, and interpret bar graphs.
Physical Demands

Work requires regular standing, walking, and use of hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach. Frequently requires climbing or balancing. Occasional sitting, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. Talk or hear. Regular lift up to 10 lbs, frequent lift up to 25 lbs, occasional lift up to 50 lbs. Specific vision abilities required include distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
