General Cardiology Physician Assistant opening with CHF focus
We are seeking an APP for Tanner Health’s General Cardiology service based in the Clinic with a Congestive Heart Failure focus. The APP will join a multi-provider team of physicians and other APPs who report to the Executive Director at Tanner Heart and Vascular Specialist. Additionally, this position will provide one weekend of inpatient service every fourth week. There will be two days off during the week the inpatient service is provided.
Tanner Heart and Vascular Specialist is part of Tanner Medical Group which consists of 42 individual practices and has approximately 270 total providers.
He/she will collaborate with other providers while conducting physical exams, diagnosing and treating acute and chronic issues, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests including lab work and imaging studies, providing education and counseling to patients while maintaining medical records via EPIC EMR. This role will focus on Congestive Heart Failure while also managing general cardiology patients and clearing surgical consults.
Position Requirements- Monday – Friday:
Clinic - 1:4 Inpatient weekend rounding (working with additional APPs and physicians)
- Will have 2 weekdays off when providing weekend coverage
- No Call responsibilities
- Completed Physician Assistant program in good standing or Master of Nursing with specialization in Nurse Practitioner
- Currently hold or be able to obtain a Georgia Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant License
- Currently hold or be able to obtain a Board Certification as Nurse Practitioner
- Open to new grads and candidates with experience in Cardiac related fields
- Able to communicate effectively with medical and hospital staff and various populations in clinics and public screening events.
- ACLS recommended.
- Additional certification required for some specialties (i.e., ACLS, PALS)
- Graduate of a recognized Physician Assistant program.
- Must be capable of dealing tactfully and effectively with patients, family members, other employees and physicians.
- Must maintain high degree of confidentiality.
- Must meet credentialing criteria.
- Must possess the cognitive ability to understand patient medical records, physician orders and medical orders to be communicated to patient, hospital and/or other physician.
- Must possess the sense or discipline to work in accordance with accepted clinical standards.
- Prior experience in a like specialty preferred.
