Security Officer - Plant Wansley/Carrollton, GA (Nights 6PM-6AM; Pre-Hire Testing Required)

Location:

1371 Liberty Church Rd, Carrollton, GA

Schedule:

Night shift 6PM-6AM (rotating shifts including weekends and holidays)

Pre-Hire Testing: physical abilities, drug screening, psychological testing, handgun/shotgun qualification, firearms re-qualification annually.

Protect Georgia Power employees, contractors, visitors and property. Enforce rules, respond to alarms, process access authorization, make decisions regarding plant access control.

• Enforce security policies and procedures.
• Respond to alarms, security requests.
• Process personnel access authorization.
• Operate electronic security systems.
• Control traffic, handle crisis situations.
• Maintain confidentiality and discretion.

• High School Diploma or equivalent (preferred).
• Valid Georgia driver’s license.
• Experience in military, law enforcement, corrections, armed security preferred.
• Knowledge of criminal justice system desired.
• Computer proficiency (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Fluency in Spanish a plus.
• Strong oral and written communication, problem-solving and decision-making.
• Ability to work rotating shifts, fast-paced environment.

• Must be 21 years of age.
• Must meet all local, State, Federal firearm requirements.
• Must obtain Armed Security Officer License.
• Must pass background check, psychological test, physical, drug test.
• Must re-qualify firearm use twice annually.
• Must be willing to work in severe weather conditions.

• Lift and carry 40-50 lbs, stand 5.5 hrs, walk 2.5 hrs, climb stairs 2 hrs (125 stairs).
• Operate at heights, fine manipulation, keyboarding, work at heights.
