This position is responsible for performing journey level work in diagnosing and repairing various vehicles and equipment.

• Diagnose and repair various vehicles and equipment at journey level.

• Education: High School Diploma or GED
• Experience: Four years of related experience. Requires broad knowledge of complex systems and procedures.

• Qualifications: A C Recycle Recovery Certificate within 90 days of employment. Four ASE Certifications in the area of assignment, OR any combination of verifiable industry or manufacturer-specific certifications will be considered, at the department's discretion, in lieu of ASE Certifications when applicable. ASE Certifications will be required within 12 months of employment.
• Knowledge of tools, methods, and practices of vehicle maintenance and repair.
• Knowledge of electrical automotive systems.
• Knowledge of vehicle diagnostic principles.
• Knowledge of applicable laws, rules, and regulations.
• Knowledge of standard safety practices.
• Skills in reading schematics and operating applicable tools and equipment.
• Skills in reading and comprehending technical manuals.
• Skills in Diagnosing and Troubleshooting Vehicle Malfunctions. and applying laws, rules, and regulations.
• Skills in maintaining maintenance records.
• Skills in communication and interpersonal interaction with coworkers, supervisors, and the general public, sufficient to exchange information and receive work direction.
