This position is responsible for performing journey level work in diagnosing and repairing various vehicles and equipment
Required Knowledge & Skills
Education:
High School Diploma or GED
Experience:
Four years of related experience. Requires broad knowledge of complex systems and procedures.
Licenses and Certifications
DRIVER'S LICENSE
Qualifications
A C Recycle Recovery Certificate within 90 days of employment
Four ASE Certifications in area of assignment. OR Any combination of verifiable industry or manufacturer specific certifications will be considered, at the department's discretion, in lieu of ASE Certifications when applicable. ASE Certifications will be required within 12 months of employment
Knowledge of tools, methods, and practices of vehicle maintenance and repair
knowledge of electrical automotive systems
Knowledge of vehicle diagnostic principles
Knowledge of applicable laws, rules, and regulations
Knowledge of standard safety practices
Skills in operating applicable tools and equipment
Skills in reading and comprehending technical manuals
Skills in diagnosing and troubleshooting vehicle malfunctions
Skills in applying laws, rules, and regulations
Skills in maintaining maintenance records
Skills in communication, interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisor, the general public, etc. sufficient to exchange or convey information and to receive work direction
