Competitive Sports Officials are responsible for maintaining a fun and competitive environment for participants. Officials must be able to implement competitive sports policies and rules in order to maintain an appropriate level of control, fairness, and safety. Sports officiated may include Basketball, Flag Football, Soccer, Volleyball, Softball, and other activities. Previous officiating experience is not required; we provide training for all Intramural Sports.
Required Qualifications- Must be a current University of West Georgia student enrolled for six credit hours and maintaining at least a 2.0 cumulative GPA
- Have a valid Driver's License
- Ability to lift 25 lbs
- Ability to stand or sit for long periods
- Customer service experience
- Basic knowledge of rules related to sports offered
- Ability to handle conflict resolution and high‑intensity environments
- Willingness to learn and ability to take constructive criticism
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
