Senior Accountant

We are partnering with a client to identify a Senior Accountant with a strong background in financial reporting, P&L analysis, and audit support, with a particular focus on R&D (I&BD) and fixed assets. The role is contract to hire and targets pay between $/hr. This company offers a hybrid schedule.

• Analyze assigned monthly P&Ls including R&D / I&BD cost centers and investigate budget versus actual variances
• Prepare and issue accurate financial reports, sub-ledgers, and journal entries in accordance with close schedules
• Review, record, and reconcile general ledger transactions and ensure proper accounting treatment
• Prepare and post accrual and adjusting entries for accurate financial reporting
• Prepare the monthly R&D report and support internal and HQ reporting cycles
• Evaluate and improve work processes for efficiency and effectiveness

• Prepare account reconciliations in the required format for internal and external audits
• Provide documentation for reconciliations, fixed assets, intangible assets, and other audit-related items
• Analyze account details to assist external auditors with their reviews
• Support audit processes related to sales and use tax, income/franchise tax, and other regulatory requirements

• Provide financial reports and schedules to support internal departments
• Investigate and explain key variances and trends to department stakeholders
• Educate non-finance colleagues on the use and purpose of financial data
• Identify and elevate internal control issues where needed

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting (required)
• At least 5 years of progressive accounting experience
• Minimum 2 years of fixed assets accounting experience
• Strong understanding of GAAP and general accounting practices
• Experience with ERP systems such as Microsoft Dynamics, SAP, or Oracle
