Respect, Compassion, Justice, Stewardship, and Excellence - Prepare and present timely and accurate monthly departmental operating reports. Attend and prepare monthly operating reviews for corporate.
- Organize and prepare monthly journal entries on a timely basis for the General Ledger.
- Prepare the annual Hospital budget, cost reports and other governmental financial and statistical reports.
- Monitor hospital cash receipts and disbursement for accuracy and internal control. Identify revenue enhancement/cost containment opportunities based on financial analysis, observations and relationships inherent to the position.
- Prepare working papers for year‑end audits and supervise audit activities.
- Maintain accurate records for filing financial and payroll related papers.
- Monitor the monthly reconciliation – all bank accounts to the General Ledger.
- Monitor, maintain and update all third‑party contract files for accounting documentation.
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of Accounting, Business Office, Information Systems, Health Information Management, Patient Access, and Purchasing.
- In developing explanations surrounding monthly financial statements with coordinate efforts with reimbursement department and business office in order to explain significant events/fluctuations regarding net revenue, bad debt, accounts receivable and related contractual allowances.
- Review monthly financial statements with officers/department leaders and develop explanations regarding any applicable action plans.
- Develop long and short range operational and capital plans for the Executive team and CCMH Board of Directors.
- Assist the CEO, CNO and CCMH Board in development of strategic plans.
- Coordinate data collection for key performance/financial indicators for quarterly reports and other benchmarking efforts.
- Originate ideas for improvement in practices and hospital.
- Follow chain of command and supports reporting relationships with CEO, CNO and managers.
- Maintain compliance with all generally accepted accounting principles and all federal and state regulations.
- Attend executive meetings and leadership meetings.
- Educational requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in finance or relevant field required;
Master’s degree preferred. - Previous Hospital/Healthcare Finance experience: minimum one‑two years.
- Management expertise:
Must possess the ability to supervise and oversee the functions and staff for areas of responsibility. - Develop and implement training programs to meet the training needs of his/her staff.
- Communicate effectively both orally and in written form with all levels of internal and external customers of the departments supervised.
- Develop and implement policy and procedures consistent with Hospital, state and federal regulatory guidelines.
