Job Description

The Occupational Therapist reports to the Manager of Rehabilitation Services and is responsible for:

  • Evaluating patients upon referral to determine problems and goals in cooperation with physicians.
  • Collaborating with the healthcare team to support and implement the plan of care, providing treatments accordingly, and re-evaluating patients periodically to adjust the care plan as needed.
  • Interpreting and communicating evaluation findings and treatment programs to patients, families, and team members.
  • Supervising Occupational Therapist Assistants, Rehabilitation Aides, and students involved in patient care.
  • Providing, recommending, or fabricating adaptive devices, orthotics, or prosthetics, and training patients, families, and staff in their use.
  • Maintaining comprehensive patient records, including evaluations, treatment records, physician updates, care plans, discharge summaries, and billing documentation.
  • Applying clinical knowledge and skills in evaluating and treating pediatric, adolescent, and geriatric populations, developing new skills as needed.
  • Performing tasks within the scope of educational preparation, organizational policies, and applicable laws and regulations.
  • Participating in multidisciplinary rounds, meetings, and in-service trainings.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.
