Minimum Requirements- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Knowledge of medical insurance, including Out of Network
- Experience with surgery billing, ICD-10, and CPT coding
- 1 year of surgery scheduling experience
- 1 year of medical office experience
- 1 year of customer service experience
- High school diploma or equivalent

The Scheduler contacts patients to schedule surgeries promptly, ensuring accurate scheduling for pre-op and post-op appointments, providing necessary information, and verifying all pre-op clearances and labs. The role involves optimizing the provider's surgery schedule and ensuring all informed surgery orders are signed and stored appropriately. The Scheduler also makes reminder calls to patients for surgeries and procedures.
Position Responsibilities- Maintain and manage the surgery calendar to keep schedules full
- Coordinate with surgical facilities for scheduling and post-surgery follow-up
- Schedule surgeries at appropriate facilities based on procedure type
- Review, complete, and file consent forms and ABNs, ensuring proper storage in the electronic medical record
- Follow up on canceled surgeries for rescheduling
- Verify insurance coverage and coordinate with the HEA Surgery Interview department
- Ensure all consents are completed with signatures and stored correctly
- Conduct pre-op calls to verify details with patients
- Handle surgery billing and resolve related issues
- Update patient instruction handouts
- Implement measures to reduce cancellations
- Perform other duties as assigned
