Boyd Memorial Hospital is looking for a Housekeeper to join our team. This position plays an essential role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for our patients, visitors, and staff. While primarily based at Boyd Memorial Hospital, this role also includes traveling to the Rural Health Center of Roodhouse three times per week to provide cleaning services. The ideal candidate takes pride in their work, follows established cleaning protocols, and contributes to the positive experience our community expects from Boyd.
Key Responsibilities:Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of all assigned hospital areas, including patient rooms, hallways, restrooms, offices, and common spaces.
Travel to Rural Health Center of Roodhouse once per week to perform scheduled cleaning duties.
Follow established cleaning protocols, infection control standards, and safety procedures to ensure a safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff.
Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and disinfect surfaces using approved cleaning agents and equipment.
Collect and properly dispose of trash, biohazard waste, and recycling according to facility policies.
Restock supplies such as soap, paper products, and cleaning materials in designated areas.
Prepare and maintain housekeeping carts and equipment in a clean, organized, and functional manner.
Report any maintenance issues, safety hazards, or needed repairs to the appropriate department.
Support infection prevention efforts by thoroughly cleaning high-touch and high-risk areas.
Maintain strict confidentiality and professionalism while working in patient care areas.
Perform miscellaneous housekeeping duties as assigned to support hospital operations.
Qualifications:Education:
High school diploma preferred
Experience:
Prior housekeeping or related experience preferred
On-the-job training provided
Computer
Skills:
Basic computer proficiency
Physical Demands and Work Environment:Physical Demands:
Ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods.
Capability to lift and move up to 25 pounds.
Exposure to clinical environments with potential contact with infectious diseases.
Requirement to adhere to safety protocols and use personal protective equipment as necessary.
