Patient Service Specialist - Medical Front Office
Baylor Scott & White Institute for Rehabilitation – Carrollton, TX (Hebron). Position:
Patient Service Specialist (Float).
Hours:
Monday – Friday 7am–7pm. Full Time. Entry level. Candidates must be willing to travel to multiple outpatient clinics (Carrollton, Coppell, Addison, Plano, Frisco, The Colony, Little Elm, Aubrey, Denton, Farmers Branch, Richardson). Mileage reimbursement provided. Compensation based on experience, starting salary $18–$25 per hour.

- Coordinates patient appointments, working with Center Manager to minimize cancellations and support treatment adherence.
- Registers patient information, ensuring all forms are complete with signatures and accurate information documented in the electronic medical record.
- Verifies patient insurance, obtains required authorizations before patient visit, explains benefits, financial responsibilities, billing, and outpatient policies.
- Collects patient responsibility at each visit.
- Scans and maintains medical documents.
- Reconciles and posts charges daily and provides reporting to ensure clean claim processing.
- Responds to all requests for information from patients, other departments, and physicians.
- Maintains office, orders supplies, and manages mail.
- Adjusts schedule to center needs as required.
- Travels to non-home location center or other sites for coverage when necessary.
- Attends all mandatory meetings and in-service education programs.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Customer service experience.
- Knowledge of insurance verification.
- Experience in healthcare, medical, or dental office administration.
- Strong organizational skills, detail-oriented, flexible, and able to work independently and as part of a team.
