POSITION SUMMARY
Schedule, coordinate, supervise, provide leadership, and ensure the safety and productivity of a small work crew. May act as management liaison and/or designated client contact.
What you’ll do:
Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
Safety:
Facilitate a safe work culture.Ensure crew members adhere to safety standards and are fit for work daily.Conduct weekly safety talks.Address technical safety questions or seek expert advice.Participate in safety investigations and reviews.Complete safety reports promptly.Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.Leadership & Supervision:
Orient new crew members.Assess and establish benchmarks for crew competency and productivity.Assign tasks and coordinate on-the-job training, including mentoring apprentices.Set work standards and promote teamwork.Perform craftwork alongside crew if needed.Planning & Scheduling:
Understand project plans and schedules to meet production goals.Ensure availability of tools and materials.Identify and communicate plan deficiencies.Translate work requirements into prioritized tasks.Adjust activities to meet schedules.Report shortages and work challenges.Quality Control:
Ensure work meets standards and specifications.Inspect work and resolve issues timely.Administration:
Prepare required reports.Maintain logs and records.Perform daily Task Hazard Analyses.Assist with project progress and quality reporting.Keep accurate time records.Recommend personnel actions.Perform additional duties as needed.Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent, 5+ years of qualified trades experience, familiarity with construction trades, OSHA safety knowledge, OSHA-30 certification (to be obtained within 6 months if not already), strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, planning, and administrative skills. A Texas Journeyman Plumber license and union membership may be required.
