Sr. Estimating Manager (IES Residential) Position Overview The Sr. Estimating Manager is an enterprise‑wide leadership role responsible for the delivery, quality assurance, and continuous improvement of the estimating function. This leader provides oversight of all estimating teams, ensuring timely, accurate, and scalable bid delivery aligned to division and enterprise growth objectives. The role also drives process improvement, system development, and data integrity while maintaining hands‑on oversight of estimating operations.

The manager serves as the escalation point for bid disputes, scope gaps, and cross‑functional issues and plays a key role in building foundational estimating processes, bench strength, and a culture centered on service, speed, and accuracy. Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop the enterprise estimating team, fostering a servant leadership culture focused on accountability, speed, accuracy, and continuous improvement. Future oversight of administrative support is expected.
  • Ensure timely, high‑volume estimate delivery while owning enterprise‑wide quality assurance, accuracy standards, and operational controls.
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for bid disputes, scope gaps, and estimating‑related interdepartmental conflicts, resolving complex issues independently and maintaining delivery performance metrics.
  • Drive enterprise estimating strategy through the development and continuous improvement of standards, tools, systems, and QA metrics, including division‑level pricing and specification data and the advancement of an IP‑owned bidding platform (IESR).
  • Own product specification decisions and estimating accuracy while partnering on risk identification and mitigation, staffing models, workforce planning, and design/specification support across residential and future multifamily markets.
  • Provide significant input into estimating department budgeting and forecasting, executing all estimating activities in alignment with established pricing strategies and margin policies while partnering closely with Operations, Preconstruction, and Business Development to support enterprise growth.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Education
    :
    Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
  • Experience
    : 8+ years of progressive experience in construction estimating, with significant residential experience required; prior experience leading estimating teams or functions strongly preferred.
  • Experience working in high‑volume estimating environments with tight turnaround expectations.
  • Exposure to enterprise‑level systems, process design, or estimating technology initiatives preferred.
  • Strong leadership capability with proven experience managing and developing estimating teams.
  • Deep understanding of residential construction estimating; multifamily experience a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead process improvement, system development, and data‑driven decision‑making.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage high‑volume, fast‑paced bid environments.
  • Proven ability to resolve complex bid, scope, and cross‑functional issues independently.
  • Strong communication skills with executive presence and ability to influence across functions.
  • Analytical mindset focused on accuracy, speed, and continuous improvement.
  • Ability to lead change and build scalable, enterprise‑level processes.
Physical Requirements
  • Work in a standard office environment with extended periods of sitting and frequent computer use.
  • Use computer, keyboard, mouse, and other standard office equipment for typing, emailing, data entry, and document review.
  • Review construction documents, plans, and specifications both digitally and in print, requiring prolonged visual focus.
  • Communicate effectively in person, via phone, email, and virtual meeting platforms, including while traveling or working remotely.
  • Occasional business travel may be required; ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods in office, airport, and job site environments.
