Job Description & How to Apply Below

Professional Plastics, a well-established supplier in the plastics manufacturing field, is seeking a skilled CNC Router Operator for its Carrollton, TX facility. This full-time opportunity centers on setting up, operating, and monitoring a CNC router to transform raw plastic stock into accurately machined components that meet exact dimensional tolerances. The role offers a comprehensive benefits package and the chance to work with industrial-grade equipment in a structured production environment.

Role Overview : CNC Router Operator at Professional Plastics

The operator is responsible for interpreting blueprints and job orders, selecting appropriate tooling, and adjusting parameters such as feed rates, cutting speed, and depth of cut. Promoting safe machining practices is central to the position, ensuring each cut meets quality standards while maintaining a secure workstation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Read blueprints and job orders for product specifications, including dimensions, tolerances, and tooling instructions
  • Follow the established sequence of operations for each job
  • Select and secure the correct tool in the tool holder
  • Position and secure the work-piece for machining
  • Use precision equipment to align tools and work-pieces in relation to each other
  • Edit feeds, speeds, and depth of cut as needed during production
  • Observe machine operation and verify that the finished work-piece conforms to specifications
Licensing and Certifications

A CNC certification is considered a plus but is not strictly required. However, candidates must hold a valid forklift certification, as material handling is an integral part of daily operations.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

This is an active, hands-on role. Employees regularly stand, walk, reach, and use hands or fingers to handle tools and controls. Lifting and moving materials up to 50 pounds is routine, with occasional lifts up to 75 pounds. The work environment frequently involves moving mechanical parts and elevated noise levels in certain areas, making hearing protection necessary. Reasonable accommodations are available for individuals with disabilities.

Benefits

Package

Professional Plastics offers a robust suite of benefits, including:

  • Daily Pay Earned Wage Access
  • Medical, Dental, and Vision coverage
  • Flexible Spending Account
  • 401K Plan with Company Match
  • Basic Life and AD&D plus Voluntary Life Insurance
  • Short and Long Term Disability
  • Employee Assistance Program
  • Paid Time Off and Paid Holidays
  • Morgan Stanley Financial Advice
  • Accident, Critical Illness, and Hospital Indemnity coverage
  • Met Life Legal Plan, Norton Life Lock, and Life Mart Employee Discounts
Application Tips Specific to This Role
  • Highlight G-code and CAM familiarity: Even if the job description emphasizes blueprint reading, mentioning your experience with G-code editing or CAM software such as Mastercam or Fusion 360 demonstrates a deeper understanding of CNC workflows.
  • Showcase plastics-specific experience: Machining plastics behaves differently than metals - materials like acrylic, Delrin, or UHMW require distinct feed and speed strategies. If you have worked with these materials, make it prominent on your resume.
  • Emphasize safety records: In environments with moving machinery and noise hazards, a clean safety record is a strong selling point. Reference any OSHA training or lockout/tagout certification you hold.
  • Verify your forklift certification is current: Since this is a hard requirement, ensure your certification is active and clearly listed. If it has lapsed, completing a refresher course before applying can set you apart from other candidates.
  • Leverage industry-specific job platforms: Beyond the official Linked In posting, similar CNC roles in plastics manufacturing frequently appear on platforms such as Indeed, iHireManufacturing, and NIMS job boards. Monitoring these can help you benchmark salary ranges and required competencies.
