Quality Control

Full Time ANALYST I Carson City, NV, US

4 days ago Requisition

Salary Range: $76,157.96 To $97,128.75 Annually

The Supreme Court of Nevada, Administrative Office of the Courts (AOC), is seeking a Court Data Officer 1 to support the Nevada Judiciary’s efforts to ensure court data is accurate, consistent, reliable, and meaningful.

This position plays an important role in the quality control and validation of statewide court data. The Court Data Officer 1 reviews data from the Data Warehouse and other approved sources to identify anomalies, inconsistencies, missing or duplicate records, mapping issues, and other data-quality concerns. Working closely with court personnel and AOC subject matter experts, the position helps investigate discrepancies, determine their source, document findings clearly, and support appropriate resolution.

In addition to data-quality activities, the Court Data Officer 1 assists with reporting, analysis, testing, documentation, and other data-management initiatives. The position will develop and perform repeatable quality-control checks, reconcile information across data sources, validate reports and dashboards, maintain quality-control documentation, and help ensure statewide reporting aligns with established data definitions, business rules, and reporting standards.

This is an excellent opportunity for an analytical and detail-oriented professional who enjoys investigating discrepancies, identifying patterns, working collaboratively to solve problems, and improving the reliability of information used for statewide reporting and decision-making.

This position requires travel to various court locations throughout Nevada and occasional travel outside of Nevada. Occasional overtime and work on holidays, nights, and/or weekends may be required.

This position can be located in Carson City or Las Vegas. After an initial training period, there may be an opportunity for a hybrid remote/in-office schedule.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform quality-control reviews of court data to assess accuracy, completeness, consistency, and reliability.
  • Identify, research, and document data anomalies, missing or duplicate records, mapping issues, reporting inconsistencies, and other potential data-quality concerns.
  • Develop and perform repeatable data-quality checks, validation procedures, reconciliation processes, and other quality-assurance activities.
  • Coordinate with court personnel and AOC subject matter experts to investigate discrepancies and resolve questions involving data definitions, local court practices, case processing, data mapping, and statewide reporting.
  • Assist with maintaining Data Warehouse information consistent with the Nevada Data Model, Data Governance Policies, applicable Nevada statutes, and established statewide reporting standards.
  • Maintain quality-control logs, issue-tracking records, testing documentation, data dictionaries, reporting guidance, and other documentation supporting accurate and consistent reporting.
  • Collect, review, integrate, and analyze structured and unstructured data from multiple systems using Excel, SQL, ad hoc query tools, and other applications.
  • Assist with studies and analyses of court-related data and prepare reports describing findings, trends, limitations, conclusions, recommendations, and data-quality concerns.
  • Participate in requirements gathering, user acceptance testing, data validation, and implementation of Data Warehouse enhancements, integrations, data feeds, dashboards, reporting tools, and system releases.
  • Review reports, dashboards, and other data products to verify that information is accurately represented and consistent with established definitions and business rules.
  • Assist with development and maintenance of reports, dashboards, caseload reporting, and other data products.
  • Provide technical assistance and data-literacy support to court and AOC staff, including explaining data definitions, measures, reports, dashboards, and known limitations.
  • Respond to data and statistical requests and provide guidance regarding available data, appropriate measures, and interpretation of statistical information.
  • Collaborate with Justices and Judges, court personnel, AOC staff, technical teams, and external partners on assigned data initiatives.
