What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
  • Develop and manage cost control systems to provide accurate financial information to project and company management
  • Conduct project planning, tracking, analysis, and reporting for various contract types, ensuring compliance with financial policies
  • Facilitate the creation of Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) in collaboration with multiple departments
  • Perform independent data analysis and create visual presentations to illustrate project cost status
  • Manage project budgets, including monthly cost analysis and risk communication regarding overruns and under spending
What is Required (Qualifications):
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Typically 10+ years of related work experience
  • 3–5 years of experience in government contract financial management
  • Familiarity with various contract types including Cost Reimbursable contracts, Firm Fixed Price, and Time and Material contracts
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for financial modeling and data analysis
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
  • Experience using Deltek Costpoint
  • Basic understanding of federal government contracting principles including FAR and DFARS
  • Familiarity with verifying travel expenses for compliance with federal travel regulations
  • Ability to learn and apply new software and tools relevant to project controls and financial management
  • Foundational knowledge of federal contract types and the ability to assist in tracking and managing these contracts
