Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor

We are seeking a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADC) and/or LADC Intern (LADC-I) to provide individual and group therapy to clients entering treatment for substance use and addictive disorders. The counselor will document and maintain client records, support patient adjustment, and facilitate healthier lifestyles.

• Conduct individual and group counseling sessions for clients.
• Assess client attitudes and progress regarding treatment, family vocation, self‑esteem, social adjustment, interpersonal relations, and coping skills.
• Document and maintain accurate records in accordance with Vitality Unlimited, SAPTA, and ASAM placement criteria.
• Ensure clients complete all treatment phases by scheduled graduation dates.
• Develop and update treatment plans with patient input.
• Participate in intake, discharge planning, and weekly staff meetings.
• Maintain awareness of social, medical, vocational, legal resources.
• Provide crisis intervention and support, collaborating with emergency services when needed.
• Observe house rules and assigned chores.
• Schedule one weekly individual counseling session per assigned client (up to 10).
• Rotating on‑call duty as scheduled by program manager.
• Adhere to Code of Ethics, confidentiality regulations (42 CFR Part 1 & II, HIPAA).
• Other duties as assigned.
• Interns meet with LADC supervisor weekly.

• Knowledge of substance use treatment and addictive behaviors.
• Familiarity with state and community resources.
• Understanding of Vitality Unlimited patterns, alcoholism concepts, and related social, psychological fields.
• Experience counseling clients with co‑occurring disorders.
• Capability to provide crisis intervention and support.
• Collaboration with emergency services and crisis teams.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Certification at time of employment.
• Valid Nevada driver’s license and proof of insurance.
• Acceptable driving record.
• Capacity to respond to client needs in varied situations.
• Physical stamina for bending, lifting, sitting, standing.
• Consistent negative drug screen.
• Knowledge of Vitality Unlimited policies and procedures.
• Ability to follow direction.

Education or experience in counseling adult or adolescent substance users. Must be certified or licensed by the Board of Examiners for Alcohol, Drug and Gambling Counselors or be eligible for licensure, certification, or internship.

Maintain ongoing CEUs to keep certification or licensure current.
