Inspects and measures internally manufactured parts or procured products using various measurement equipment to verify compliance with company and/or customer engineering drawings and procedures. Ensures quality production of products consistent with established standards and specifications including AS9100, ISO 9001, and ISO 14001. Completes inspection records, Physical and Chemical certifications, performs AS9102 FAI’s, and non‑conformance documentation. Makes entries in Click Bond ERP/MRP system and verifies all documentation is complete and correct before parts are shipped to external customers.
Interacts with internal and external customers politely and courteously. Trains new and level 1 employees and other personnel as needed. Assists in discovering root causes and helps develop corrective action to prevent recurrence.
- Use inspection devices (micrometer, caliper, optical measurement equipment) to determine product conformance with engineering drawings, purchase orders, and associated specifications.
- Set up and operate the Retina automated inspection system.
- Produce reports of inspection acceptance or non‑conformance and make appropriate computer entries.
- Stamp mark of approval for procured product, internally produced product, or appropriate shipping documentation.
- Produce reports of traceability and certificates of compliance.
- Test materials as necessary.
- Assist with the creation of inspection plans and inspection report forms.
- Assist in training new employees and level 1 inspectors.
- Help create control plans and inspection plans.
- Create AS9102 FAI’s.
- Communicate and work with internal customers.
- Occasional use of the forklift.
- Develop root‑cause analysis and corrective actions using 5‑Why and/or 8D.
- Perform first shot, in process, final, and shipping inspections.
- Coordinate, train, and audit production technicians in the Certified Manufacturing Inspector program compliant with AS9162 Aerospace Operator Self‑Verification Programs.
- Conduct XRF material analysis.
- Proficient in the management of product in the non‑conformance process.
- Report immediately all suspicious and hazardous conditions to a supervisor.
- Understand and observe all safety guidelines and assure quality and safety by complying with all appropriate CB policies and procedures.
- Assist in maintaining clean, orderly, and hazard‑free work areas.
- Able to work with minimal supervision, be self‑starter and detail‑oriented.

- Knowledge of SPC (Statistical Process Control) and basic statistical methods.
- Experience with AS9102 FAI (First Article Inspection).
- Understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance); GD&T certification required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; clarity, confidence, active listening.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, procedures, and written information.
- Sound judgment and ability to involve appropriate people in decision‑making.
- Time management and punctuality; follows through on commitments.
- Responsibility for own actions; clear instructions and compliance with management direction.
- Computer navigation skills, experience with MS Word, Excel, Outlook, ERP/MRP and manufacturing software.
- Experience with Six‑Sigma and Lean Manufacturing principles.
- Experience with the NCR process and non‑conformances.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, problem‑solving and organizational skills.
- Read and understand control plans and inspection plans.
- Customer‑focused communication.
- Proficient at performing in‑process, final, and dimensional inspections utilizing devices such as micrometers, calipers, optical equipment.
- Forklift experience and/or certification preferred.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes (e.g., injection molding, compression molding, CNC, composites, paint processes, passivation, assembly).
- Ability to write and read English.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in quality inspection or a related position.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
