- Administrative Support Assistant (I) is $3,680 - $4,517 per month.
- Administrative Support Assistant (II) is $3,680 - $5,417 per month.
- Administrative Support Coordinator (I) is $3,864 - $6,072 per month
- Administrative Support Coordinator (II) is $4,058 - $6,653 per month
The final salary is dependent upon qualifications and experience.
Position InformationThe purpose of this recruitment is to produce a pool of qualified applicants to call upon for temporary/emergency administrative support appointments. Successful candidates may be appointed for a few days up to one year depending on the assignment.
A temporary/emergency appointment is generally utilized to replace a permanent employee on leave of absence or to provide clerical support during a recruitment process subsequent to an employee's resignation. Temporary/emergency appointments will be made in the appropriate job classification, depending upon the needs of the hiring department. You may be considered for available positions in any of these classifications depending on your qualifications.
This is a Temporary and/or hourly intermittent appointment. No probationary period. No permanent status is granted. This position may qualify for ACA-eligible health care.
Overview of Duties and ResponsibilitiesPositions in this classification are primarily responsible for providing varying levels of general office, clerical, and secretarial support for students, faculty, and staff. The full range of work activities includes processing mail, maintaining files and records, scheduling and arranging appointments, providing budget support, processing of documents and records, gathering data, preparing standard reports, and interacting with and solving problems for work unit customers and staff.
Positions in this classification tend to support a function or department but may support a particular person(s).
Positions at the higher skill typically, are responsible for the full scope of project activities including initiation, execution, coordination, implementation, and evaluation. Incumbents may coordinate the office support for an entire academic, special program or administrative office, or for an administrative head to one of these offices.
Minimum Qualifications- Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent and the following years of experience:
- ASA I - Some experience in an office environment, equivalent to (1) year.
- ASA II - Some experience in an office environment, equivalent to (2) years.
- ASC I - Three (3) years of progressively responsible general office work experience.
- ASC II - Four (4) years of progressively responsible general office administrative
- Basic knowledge of applicable university infrastructure, policies, and procedures.
- Working knowledge of English grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
- Ability to use standard office equipment.
- Ability to apply independent judgment, discretion, and initiative to address problems and develop practical, thorough and, at times, creative solutions.
- Ability to perform standard arithmetic functions of a transactional nature, including tracking and comparing data.
- Ability to perform standard business math, such as calculating ratios and percentages, tracking financial data, and making simple projections.
- Ability to draft and compose correspondence and standard reports.
- Ability to handle effectively a broader range of interpersonal contacts, including those at a higher level and those sensitive in nature
- Ability to perform business math, analyze budgetary data, and make accurate projections requiring some inference.
- Ability to effectively write and present own reports.
- Expertise in using office software packages, technology, and systems
- Satisfactory completion of a background check (including a criminal records check) is required for employment. Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may affect the application status of applicants or the continued employment of current CSU employees who apply for the position.
- Employment is contingent upon the candidate passing a pre-employment physical exam with the ability to lift up in excess of 50 lbs.
- Possession of a valid Driver's License is required. Employees in this position will be enrolled in the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) Government Employer Pull Notice Program.
