Temporary Faculty Pool, Extension- Credit

Overview

Temporary Faculty Pool for Extension-For-Credit courses in the College of Continuing and Professional Education at California State University, Dominguez Hills (CSUDH). Positions are filled as needed based on student enrollment and funding. Candidates may need to be available to begin teaching on short notice.

• Teach assigned courses in the College of Continuing and Professional Education's portfolio of credit extension courses.
• When assigned, serve as Program Coordinators.

• A Master’s degree in the field relevant to the curriculum or related discipline for teaching 300 and 400-level courses.
• Preference will be given to candidates with prior teaching experience at the college or university level and who can furnish evidence of strong teaching.
• Applicants must have experience in teaching undergraduate and/or graduate students from diverse ages, socioeconomic, cultural, and academic backgrounds.

• A Doctorate degree and/or extensive professional experience is required for teaching 500-level courses.

Satisfactory completion of a background check (including a criminal records check) is required for employment. CSU will make a conditional offer of employment, which may be rescinded if the background check reveals disqualifying information, and/or it is discovered that the candidate knowingly withheld or falsified information. Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may affect the continued employment of a current CSU employee who was conditionally offered the position.

The Instructional Faculty, Special Programs For-Credit (job code 2323) has salary per unit base rates as follows when enrollment is 22 or more. Anticipated hiring base rate depends on experience and education; total compensation for the course is based on unit workload calculations and will be included in the Letter of Appointment (LOA) drafted by CCPE.
