Power Electronics Design Engineer – Carson, CA
Onsite contract position with hourly pay ranging from $40 per hour to $50 per hour based on education, experience, and location.
About the RoleExperience should be around power electronics. Senior Level 6-8 years of experience will be ideal; the role can train on the manufacturing side but requires a strong understanding of electronics.
Key Qualifications- 6-8 years of experience in aerospace
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- Proficiency in CAD tools and mechanical analysis
- Knowledge of industry standards and certification processes
- Strong problem‑solving and communication skills
- Design electromechanical solutions for aerospace applications, including pilot control, actuation systems, and cockpit solutions.
- Engage in all phases of product lifecycle—from requirements capture and detailed design to manufacturing and field support.
- Interpret and create engineering drawings per ASME Y14.5; perform mechanical analysis including kinematics, tolerance stack‑ups, strength, and environmental impacts.
- Conduct FMEA and failure mode analysis; recommend design improvements.
- Ensure designs meet customer specifications and regulatory standards; participate in design reviews and manufacturing readiness assessments.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (manufacturing, quality, testing, suppliers, customers) to support change control boards and certification processes.
- Evaluate design changes for cost, schedule, and technical impact; drive efficiency and innovation in product development.
