Research Tool & Die Works powered by Fairbanks Morse Defense is seeking a motivated individual to fill a packer position at our facility located in Carson, CA. This individual will be a key member of the logistics department at Research Tool & Die Works, working with a team handling the receipt and delivery of all incoming shipments while ensuring the accuracy of outgoing shipments.
A successful candidate should have the ability to work with minimal supervision, communicate progress with a team, and accurately count, pack, and ship orders.
- Manages the shipment and receipt of all products, materials, and supplies.
- Collaborates and communicates with logistics supervisor, packing/shipping associates, service providers, and others involved in the shipment and receipt of products.
- Tracks, traces and updates the status of incoming and outgoing shipments.
- Maintains a clean, neat, and member‑ready area.
- Promptly unloads trucks and deliveries and sorts and stocks receivables.
- Maintains an accurate log sheet of daily moves, scanning inventory, and counting accurately.
- Engages with vendors and drivers with a positive attitude.
- Provides additional backup support for shipping and receiving departments.
- Scans and sorts incoming and outgoing stock.
- Receives, stocks, and stacks products and materials.
- Pulls, packs, and loads products as instructed.
- Knowledge of using the Syspro ERP system.
- Ability to operate a forklift.
- Familiarity with the RTND Parts Catalog.
- Other duties assigned by supervisor.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong sense of time organization and urgency.
- Able to work independently and within a team.
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds unaided.
- Ability to bend, crouch, and lift items throughout the shift.
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- 6 months of logistics, retail, or customer service experience.
- Forklift Certification is highly desirable.
- This position includes access or potential access to export‑controlled data. Therefore, you will need to qualify as a U.S. Person, ... (refer to full criteria in original listing).
- This is a full‑time 40 hour per week position; overtime will be scheduled as needed. The standard shift is from 7:00 AM–4:15 PM Monday–Thursday and 7:00 AM–12:00 PM Friday.
