Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Clock in and perform transactions in Shop‑Trak; provide updates on project status, material moves, and scrap for all operations.
  • Load, unload, receive, and store raw materials and supplies.
  • Prepare machines to start a production cycle, performing calibration, cleaning, and other activities efficiently IAW quality standards and established safety procedures.
  • Use computer‑aided manufacturing programs to monitor, control, and adjust machine settings while operating machinery and/or equipment, according to specifications.
  • Perform periodic checks on machinery and/or equipment and solve problems as detected; troubleshoot issues that occur during shift; maintain operator logs.
  • Complete work as required to meet production and schedule requirements.
  • Perform minor repairs and routine preventive maintenance on machines, including cleaning scrap trays and filters.
  • Assist peers and/or cross‑train on other machines/equipment as needed.
  • Work with peers to identify product defects and report necessary nonconformances to Supervisor and/or Quality Inspector.
  • Coordinate movement of parts and/or products to the next step operation.
  • Follow safety protocols and wear personal protective equipment as required.
  • Maintain equipment and work areas; clean and perform basic repairs as needed.

Qualifications
  • Mechanical aptitude to operate and maintain machinery effectively.
  • Possess basic arithmetic and computer skills.
  • Comfortable using hand tooling and basic measuring equipment; tolerances are key.
  • Understand oral and written instructions; ability to learn quickly, meet deadlines, and maintain equipment.
  • Communication and people skills; team player willing to learn.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment (PPE, dusty, hot, non‑climate‑controlled, stairs, frequent walking, standing, occasional lifting).
  • Ability to work off shift hours in support of plant initiatives.
  • Must demonstrate proficiency in core production roles within 90 days of hire.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish (preferred).
  • Knowledge of G‑Code (may be required based on position).
  • Available to work 2nd shift (2:00 pm‑10:30 pm).
Physical and Mental Demands
  • Regularly required to talk or hear.
  • Regularly stand, walk, and may sit for extended periods.
  • Regularly use hand‑eye coordination, grasp, manipulate, and reach with hands and arms.
  • Occasionally required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, reach, push, pull, and perform repetitive motions.
  • Frequently lift and/or move objects up to 50 lb and occasionally move objects that weigh more than 100 lb using mechanical equipment.
  • Specific vision abilities required: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Must work in various weather and temperature conditions (extreme heat, humidity, cold).
