Shift Lead

The Shift Lead’s focus is to help and assist the Team Leads and Team Members in ensuring that work is getting done correctly and efficiently. The Shift lead is expected to be a Role Model and assist the rest of the Team as far as work ethic and working in accordance to Café 86’s standards.

• Assist and Lead the Team in serving customers efficiently and in a timely manner. Monitor quality of products going out and judge accordingly.
• Must know opening and closing procedures (includes cooking boba, brewing teas, making churrochi batter and pudding, etc)
• Demonstrate leadership by making sure that the café is clean & organized inside and out.
• Assist and delegate work to Team Members especially during down-time.
• Act as a Role Model in ensuring that policies set in place by Café 86 for safety, health, security, cash handling and maintenance are in compliance and that the cafés facilities and properties are always protected.
• Ensure the highest level of customer service and address feedback and concerns in a timely manner.
• Assist in maintaining the cafe inventory and ensure accuracy in levels. Maintain open communication lines with Team Leads
• Must maintain positive and productive relationships with all shift leads and team members as well as with other Café 86 stores and departments
• Demonstrate a calm demeanor during a “rush” or unusual events and ensures smooth transitions thereafter to keep the store operating to standard and to set a positive example for the team members
• Display and deliver a customer-comes-first attitude by connecting with customers and responding to their needs. Hold team members accountable for delivering highest level customer service
• Assist in delegating with integrity, honesty and knowledge that promote the culture, values and mission of Café 86.
• Assist in providing training in quality milkshakes, teas, espressos, sandwiches, churrochi’s, etc consistently for all customers by adhering to all recipes and presentation standards. Follow health safety and sanitation guidelines for all products.
