We are a statewide provider of commercial skilled trade services, specializing in new construction, tenant improvements, and remodels. Our Southern California division offers 24/7 emergency response and preventative maintenance programs.
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $35 to $50 per hour DOE
Location: Orange County, Los Angeles County, and/or Inland Empire, Southern California
Responsibilities- Visually inspect and diagnose issues with natural gas and/or gasoline-powered standby commercial generators
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, including oil changes, filter replacements, battery replacements, and servicing of belts, spark plugs, and other mechanical components
- Demonstrate mechanical knowledge with CAT, Cummins, Generac, Kohler, or Detroit Diesel generator systems
- Work effectively with DC and AC voltage systems
- Troubleshoot and service Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS) with proficiency
- Conduct load bank testing to ensure generator performance under load
- Educate end users on proper generator operation and basic maintenance procedures
- Provide service and repair recommendations to maintain equipment in optimal working condition
- Read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and wiring diagrams
- Operate a company vehicle and complete fleet maintenance reports as required
- Maintain accurate records of all inspections, maintenance, and repair work performed
- Communicate effectively with management, team members, and clients to ensure clear understanding of service needs and solutions
- Minimum of eight years of recent experience performing commercial generator maintenance
- Basic understanding of NFPA 70E, OSHA regulations, and general electrical safety practices
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test and motor vehicle background check
- Proficient English communication skills, both written and verbal, for preparing reports and emails
- Must possess personal hand tools required to perform mechanical work and voltage testing
- Willingness to commute to various job sites using company vehicles within Orange County, Los Angeles County, and/or the Inland Empire
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment
