Position SummaryWe are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Plant Equipment engineer with knowledge of Facility maintenance (SOLAR INDUSTRY EXPERIENCE is a plus) to oversee the utilization, maintenance, and lifecycle of physical assets (solar equipment and balance of plant gear). This role is ideal if you thrive in a fast-paced environment, have a passion about renewable energy, and enjoy working collaboratively with sales, engineering, and administrative teams.
The Equipment engineer will coordinate maintenance schedules, repairs, and ensure equipment readiness. They will additionally be responsible for preparing documents for compliance with safety and operational standards, as well as collaborate with engineering, operations, quality and asset management teams for efficient operations.
- Responsible for running diagnostic tests and the repair of malfunctioning equipment.
- Understanding of the electrical fundamental principles of voltage, current, and resistance.
- Utilize software to design procedures to create solid models and detailed drawings.
- Enhance industrial control schemes to increase operational improvement and cost reduction.
- Provide trouble shooting for operations, control systems, and perform equipment instrumentation calibration, which will include flow and pressure transmitters and level sensors.
- Perform preventative maintenance; make certain that critical spares are in stock, make certain that data input is accurate, oversee work orders and implement backup programs.
- Perform root cause failure analysis for failed parts.
- Identify machine components and design features to increase reliability in the operating environment.
- Practice safe work methods and adhere to all plant safety.
- Develop and maintain work orders and write work requests.
- Familiar with NEC (electrical code) and IBC (building code).
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Facility Maintenance Supervisor experience.
- Demonstrated skills with Solid Works, or other design software.
- Materials knowledge (corrosion, failure, strength of materials).
- Able to tolerate a fast-paced work environment in areas that are not climate-controlled.
The work is typically performed indoors and outdoors. Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as needed.
Physical DemandsMust be able to carry up to 50 lbs. Ability to stand for long periods.
