Job SummaryThis position is responsible for evaluating, analyzing and processing financial aid documentation on students to determine aid eligibility and make awards within federal, state and institutional guidelines.
Responsibilities- Understand, support, and carry out the college s mission, vision, and values and comply with mandates and regulations of government and accrediting bodies.
- Verify accuracy of documents and consistency of data from federal tax returns, financial aid transcripts verification documents and student information; perform data analysis to identify discrepancies in data.
- Request additional information for incomplete or inconsistent applications needed to perform accurate need analysis.
- Process applications according to federal guidelines or regulations; deny aid if ineligible; perform needs analysis calculations according to guidelines and determine eligibility and appropriate award donors, adjustment, changes and/or corrections.
- Answer questions from students, parents, or guardians in person or in writing regarding financial aid programs and eligibility.
- Analyze system-generated reports to verify continued compliance and eligibility and notify students of changes to amend the differences.
- Prepare invoices for scholarship and grant funds.
- Reconcile scholarship and grant funds.
- Assist in the preparation and presentation of financial aid information at meetings, group discussions, workshops, and recruitment sessions.
- Notify students concerning delinquency and default status; manage default prevention procedures.
- Schedule student exit counseling sessions.
- Perform batch processing and file transfers from the Department of Education.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with the completion of a baccalaureate degree in a course of study related to the occupational field.
- Sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position, usually associated with the completion of an apprenticeship/internship or having had a similar position for one (1) to two (2) years.
- Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver s license for the type of vehicle or equipment operated.
Salary: $44,000 annually
