A Production Engineer supports day-to-day manufacturing operations, collecting, validating, and analyzing data to produce actionable reports for management. The role also involves creating production schedules, coordinating with supervisors, troubleshooting equipment, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and leading cross‑departmental projects.
Responsibilities- Work closely with production management on ongoing reporting and development of analytical tools to enhance production volume and profitability.
- Identify production issues, analyze root causes, and drive resolutions.
- Assist the Production Manager in budget analysis and preparation; develop operating goals for productivity, quality, and safety.
- Compile and analyze company data and create reports for management review.
- Provide production line support including process improvements, troubleshooting equipment, and addressing operator inquiries.
- Utilize Lean, Six Sigma, and other best‑practice tools for day‑to‑day problem solving and continuous improvement.
- Lead implementation of new manufacturing initiatives, including strategic resource allocation and applying good manufacturing principles and leadership.
- Maintain records, manage labor costs, and coordinate with other departments to ensure material availability, staffing, capacity, and profitability.
- Analyze statistical trends to develop KPIs with internal partners for performance benchmarking.
- Work with planning and scheduling to develop production plans, assign personnel, establish priorities, monitor progress, revise schedules, resolve problems, and report results.
- Create mechanisms to improve production and streamline workflow.
- Develop new reporting methods, templates, and tools to drive improvement across business areas.
- Adhere to Hanwha Q Cells policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned by management.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.
- 0–5+ years of related experience.
- Fluency in Korean (required).
- Strong math and analytic skills.
- Comfortable integrating new technology into existing business environments.
- Proficient in data analysis, verification, and problem‑solving.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high‑pressure environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, 5S, Lean/Six Sigma.
- Advanced proficiency with ERP/MES systems.
- Ability to stand and walk the production area throughout the workday.
- Ability to lift to 50 pounds without restriction.
- Capability to perform reaching, pushing, pulling, or lifting as required within limits set by Q Cells.
- Will spend prolonged periods at a desk working on a computer.
- Experience filtering “Big Data” and interpreting it for data‑driven decision making.
- Extensive experience implementing new programs and data systems.
- Skill in abstract reasoning techniques to build reporting logic and create innovative solutions.
- Ability to work with ambiguous data sets and information, using people skills and intuition to navigate solutions.
- Ability to learn various software applications required for quality and performance reporting and analysis.
