Nurse: RN or LPN (Outpatient Clinic)
Highland Rivers Behavioral Health provides treatment and recovery services to individuals impacted by mental illness, substance use disorders, and intellectual developmental disabilities.
JOB SUMMARY: The RN or LPN will work in a mental health/outpatient clinic setting, providing direct service to individuals including clinical nursing assessments, labs, injections, medication management, and training.
Duties and Responsibilities- Provides clinical nursing services for individuals, such as nursing assessments, injections, medication assistance, PAP assistance, sample medications, re-assessments, TB tests, labs, urine drug screens, HIV/Hep C testing, and vitals; completes necessary paperwork according to policy and procedure.
- Pay‑for‑performance: staff working 40 hrs/week must complete 40 hours of billable services per pay period (pro‑rated for part‑time).
- Communicates with medical staff to coordinate treatment, including PCPs and sign RIO authorizations; advocates with other agencies for resources.
- Provides assistance and support in crisis situations using professional judgment and appropriate intervention techniques.
- Provides education for individuals and their support system on medications, nutrition, health & wellness, and general mental health and addictive diseases.
- Participates in multidisciplinary treatment team meetings weekly to develop individualized service plans focused on recovery.
- Maintains therapeutic professional boundaries and communicates effectively and calmly with sensitivity and diplomacy.
- Adheres to safety and infection‑control guidelines; completes Infection Control reports per policy and procedure.
- Makes sure the nursing office meets policy and procedure—regularly reviews supplies/medications expiration dates, temperature logs, and equipment functionality.
- Works in partnership with physician/nurse practitioner to provide exceptional services to individuals.
