American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a 14-week day shift assignment requiring 2 years of experience and GA or compact RN licensure.

• Medical-Surgical unit caring for general med-surg patients, peritoneal dialysis, and radial band recovery (no PCI)
• Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 AM-7:30 PM)
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call responsibilities
• Floating required within facility and scope of practice as needed
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• No schedule requests or block scheduling accommodated
• Epic charting system preferred

• Active GA or Compact RN license required at time of submission
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg nursing experience required
• BLS certification required
• ACLS, CPI, and NIHSS certifications preferred
• Skills in IV therapy/phlebotomy, peripheral line care, and starting/maintaining IVs required
• Central line blood draw and PICC line management skills preferred
• Cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and telemetry monitoring experience required
• Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
• Experience with isolation precautions/PPE, respiratory care (oxygen administration, nasal cannula, oral suctioning), and renal/dialysis management
• Experience with surgical drain management

• Provide direct patient care including IV therapy, cardiac monitoring, and management of dysrhythmias
• Support rapid response and code team activations as needed
• Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate
• Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, must be finalized at time of submission
• No RTO requests permitted during orientation week
• Holiday coverage required based on number of major holidays falling within the assignment (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year's Eve/Day)
• Former permanent, PRN, or internal staff must be away from all facilities within the health system for one full year before returning as a traveler
• Travelers who cancel or are deemed unable to return must complete one assignment elsewhere before reapplying
