American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a 14-week day shift assignment requiring 2 years of experience and a GA or compact RN license.

• Medical Surgical unit caring for general medical-surgical patients, peritoneal dialysis, and radial band recovery (no PCI)
• Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 to 19:30
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call responsibilities
• Floating required within facility and scope of practice as needed
• 1:6 patient ratio
• Epic charting system preferred
• Shift and schedule are firm with no schedule requests or accommodations

• Active GA or Compact RN license required at time of consideration
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg experience required
• BLS required; ACLS, CPI, and NIHSS preferred
• Skills in IV therapy/phlebotomy, peripheral line care, and starting/maintaining IVs required
• Central line blood draw and PICC line management preferred
• Cardiac monitoring and emergency response skills required, including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias preferred
• On-unit telemetry monitoring required; remote telemetry monitoring preferred
• Experience with isolation precautions/PPE required
• Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
• Copies of required certifications needed for consideration

• Provide care for general medical-surgical, peritoneal dialysis, and radial band recovery patients
• Manage respiratory needs including nasal cannula, oxygen administration, and oral suctioning
• Support genitourinary/renal patients including pre/post hemodialysis management and renal failure care
• Manage surgical drains for plastics patients
• Use rapid response and code teams as needed
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate
• Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, which must be finalized at time of submission
• No RTO permitted during orientation week
• Holiday coverage required based on number of major holidays falling within assignment (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year's Eve/Day)
• Permanent, PRN, or internal staff must be away from all Piedmont facilities for one full year before returning as a traveler
• Returning travelers who were cancelled or deemed unable to return must complete one assignment outside of Piedmont before reapplying
