• Perform routine safety and emergency security activities to safeguard students, employees, visitors, patients, and property.
• Act as first responder to all emergency incidents within the assigned facility.
• De‑escalate critical events and exercise sound judgment in engaging with combative or escalating subjects.
• Maintain a secure environment through organized patrols, access control, and surveillance.

• High School Diploma or GED (minimum education).
• Two years of experience in general security, military, or other public safety (preferred).
• Valid driver’s license required by law; must adhere to Piedmont’s Healthcare Vehicle Safety Program policy 3500.
• Certified Healthcare Security Officer (IAHSS) within one year of hire.
• Georgia Peace Officer Standards & Training (POS/T) certification preferred.
• Carry non‑lethal weapons such as Taser CEW and/or baton required.
• Must pass pre‑employment psychological screening.
• Must maintain all training requirements to retain employment, including certifications in Taser, ASP Baton, Mental Health First Aid, and other directed training.
