This position is responsible for all components of the women’s volleyball program, including recruiting, coaching, overseeing conduct and discipline for student athletes, and academic advising student-athletes.
Responsibilities- Understand, support, and carry out the college’s mission, vision, and values; comply with mandates and regulations of government and accrediting bodies
- Conduct activity sport instruction courses centered on learning the skills and rule requirements for different sports
- Supervise all team practices, competition, and student athletes
- Develop and execute a recruitment plan in accordance with NJCAA policies & procedures
- Develop practice plans and game strategies for upcoming opponents
- Develop practice schedules and teach the fundamental skills and techniques of volleyball
- Perform on-court instruction and player development
- Organize team travel for away games
- Conduct and supervise individual trainings for student athletes and off-season conditioning
- Monitor progress of student athletes and implement strategies to ensure academic and athletic success with emphasis on sportsmanship, integrity, competitive spirit, and academic success
- Promote athletic program camps and events to the campus and community and raise funds in conjunction with the Office of Advancement and the President’s Office
- Manage Women’s Volleyball program budget
- Manage scholarship awards in coordination with the Director of Athletics
- Manage and care for volleyball equipment and supervise maintenance of gymnasium
- Maintain Women’s Volleyball website and social media accounts
- Represent the college at regional and national meetings as required; participate in community and campus service events
- Maintain sensitivity, understanding, and respect for a diverse environment
- Perform duties in a manner consistent with the college’s mission, goals, and core values
- Knowledge and competency typical of a bachelor’s degree related to the field
- Three to five years of related experience or equivalent
- Possession of or ability to obtain a valid driver’s license
- Ability to obtain a GHC purchasing card (credit check required)

- Strong knowledge of NJCAA rules and regulations or ability to learn quickly
- General knowledge of Title IX regulations
- General knowledge of FERPA guidelines
- Knowledge and experience with fundraising methods
- Ability to apply technology to athletic program management
- Knowledge of repair and maintenance of fitness equipment
- Knowledge of gymnasium and athletic area maintenance
- Knowledge of college budgetary and purchasing policies
- Knowledge of sports activities
- Skill in computers and related software; strong oral and written communication
