Energy & Sustainability Consultant

Responsibilities

• Analyze sustainability report data to uncover opportunities for enhancing existing programs and initiating new sustainability initiatives.

• Proactively recommend and implement energy efficiency improvements across a global real estate portfolio, taking into account factors like cost-efficiency, technical viability, and facility integration.

• Collaborate closely with facility managers and key stakeholders to execute energy-saving measures and provide expert sustainability guidance.

• Compile variance reports on energy, waste, and water usage to assess performance across various client locations.

• Monitor and track key sustainability metrics such as energy consumption, natural resource utilization, waste output, and recycling rates.

• Contribute to the development and execution of data quality improvement strategies and Measurement & Verification (M&V) plans.

• Stay informed on evolving legal and market developments related to energy, carbon, and broader sustainability compliance.

• Operate within established procedures and timelines to meet project goals and deliverables.

• Communicate clearly and effectively by exchanging relevant information, asking questions, and confirming mutual understanding.

• Possess practical experience in supporting and managing UK/EU energy and carbon legislation.

• Familiarity with green building certification systems such as LEED, BREEAM, NABERS, WELL, TRUE Zero Waste, Green Star, or Energy Star is highly desirable.

• Preferred:
  Bachelor’s degree (BSc/BEng) in Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related scientific discipline;
  Master’s degree in a relevant field is a plus.

• Minimum of 3 years of relevant professional experience; equivalent education and experience combinations will also be considered.

• Competency in applying standard procedures to problem-solving scenarios.

• Demonstrated ability to analyze complex data, set priorities, and make informed decisions.

• Strong organizational and project management skills, with a curious and proactive mindset.

• Flexibility and willingness to travel as required.
