Resident Care Director
Position at Viva Senior Living.
Position SummaryThe Resident Care Director leads the nursing administration team, ensuring high quality resident care, compliance with regulations, and effective management of staff and resources.
Responsibilities- Models a business philosophy that treats every resident and family member as a personal customer.
- Responsible for the retention of residents and delivering services in compliance with state/federal policies.
- Oversees compliance with Viva Senior Living clinical policies, including assessments, service plans, medication management, and infection control.
- Recruit, hire, evaluate, motivate, and monitor the performance of care staff.
- Coordinate departmental schedule and ensure adequate staffing.
- Oversee training programs and conduct orientation for new team members.
- Conduct ongoing resident assessments, monitor health changes, and report to the Executive Director and families.
- Support administration with referral development, census maintenance, and act as care manager.
- Measure outcomes, set goals, and lead the care team to achieve them.
- Perform clinical duties such as vital sign checks, medication administration, and specimen collection as needed.
- Lead life safety and emergency drills, participate in emergency plan activation, and assist with evacuations.
- Maintain confidentiality of Protected Health Information and report non‑compliance and incidents per policy.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Valid LPN or RN license in good standing with the state.
- Minimum one year of full‑time clinical experience.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Excellent communication skills in English.
- Strong leadership and compassionate care mindset; adherence to the Resident Bill of Rights.
- Ability to manage a department budget.
- Compliance with federal, state, and local health regulations.
- Availability to be called back during emergency situations.
- Adherence to Viva Senior Living attendance policies and Employee Handbook.
- Annual negative TB skin test verification.
- Intermittent mobility throughout the workday.
- Ability to handle mental and emotional stress.
- Adequate vision and hearing, with or without prosthetics.
- Capacity to move, push, pull, lift a minimum of 25 pounds to a height of 5 feet and carry for at least 50 feet.
- Ability to assist in evacuation during emergencies.
- Medical and physical examination requirement per facility policies.
