Job OverviewA small specialist team within the Dental Radiology Department at Newcastle Dental Hospital is seeking an enthusiastic, autonomous radiographer. The post offers the opportunity to extend your skills, contribute to teaching, and work within a team‑based environment.
Main Duties- Deliver high‑standard diagnostic imaging to a wide range of patients, including those who are dental‑phobic or anxious.
- Teach undergraduate dental and therapy students, dental nurses, and BSc Radiography students in intra‑oral and panoramic radiography.
- Perform Cone Beam CT, cephalometric radiography, and assist Consultant Radiologists with ultrasound and sialography.
- Take on additional responsibilities such as Quality Assurance, Reject Analysis, audits, teaching seminars, and line management duties.
- Evidence of CPD.
- Basic computer & IT skills.
- Knowledge of Quality Assurance issues.
- Willingness to learn new techniques and adapt to changing work demands.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Effective interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage personal workload within a multidisciplinary team.
- Experience working as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Previous radiographic experience.
- Previous dental radiography experience (desirable).
- Previous teaching experience (desirable).
- BSc Radiography or Diploma of the College of Radiographers (or equivalent).
- Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) registration.
- ECDL (desirable).
- Postgraduate qualification in Radiography (desirable).
- All references from current and previous employers must cover a minimum of 3 years.
- Successful candidates required to undergo a DBS check; the cost will be deducted from first month’s pay.

Tuesday 10 February 2026. - Position is Band 6, 37 hours 30 minutes per week, and offers a high teaching commitment.
