OverviewManage the day-to-day functions of the maintenance department to assure the maximum utilization of the processing equipment. Determining work priorities; schedule repairs, maintenance and installation of machines, tools and equipment; reviewing new product plans; directing installation of, modifications to, and maintenance activities on, heat, steam, electric, gas and air systems. Responsible for parts usage, preventative maintenance and training of employees. Responsible for operation of wastewater treatment system.
Responsibilities- Provide daily support to all associates in the areas of safety issues, maintenance problems and associate problems.
- Assure that associates have all the proper tools and equipment in proper working condition to perform their necessary job duties.
- Conduct regular meetings with associates to communicate important information such as overtime needs, business news, safety programs and issues, etc., and listen to associate input on issues.
- On a daily basis move throughout the various work areas to offer support, gain input from lead persons and associates and monitor maintenance activities.
- Complete and maintain necessary paperwork required and associated with the maintenance operations.
- Facilitate and promote the team concept by working with associates as a team member through coaching, leading, listening, coordinating and supporting.
- Communicate and coordinate on a daily basis with other supervisors and managers to assure maximum productivity.
- Minimize downtime.
- Must have strong social skills; must be able to work well with others, train and supervise staff; motivate employees, and assist with plant activities.
- Supervise PM program.
- Manage parts costs.
- Assist in developing and implementing special projects.
- Maintenance operational integrity and regulatory compliance of the wastewater system.
- CMMS Knowledge.
- B.A. Degree/Equivalent management Experience.
- 3-5 years experience in a management role.
- Leadership and planning skills.
- Should be computer literate.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, stand, climb stairs, fine motor of the fingers, and sit.
- Position occasionally requires reaching and working above shoulders, body bending, hand twisting, stooping, climbing stairs and body twisting/rotating.
- Pushing, pulling, and/or carrying up to 100 pounds.
- Occasional lifting up to 100 pounds (up to 3ft high) and carrying for less than 100ft in range.
- Will be exposed to loud industrial type environments commonly found at plants as well as moving parts.
- Varied temperatures from hot and humid to very cold.
