• Provide personal care to residents, ensuring safety and comfort consistent with community policy.
• Promote and support the greatest possible degree of independence for residents.
• Advise supervising charge nurse of resident’s status at beginning and end of shift.
• Contribute knowledge of residents’ conditions/needs to resident care plans.
• Assist in implementation of care plans as directed within established policies and procedures.
• Observe and report residents’ conditions, documenting observations as required.
• Comply with procedures for safe lifting and/or transfer of residents per established policies.
• Perform moderate to heavy lifting as needed.
• Ensure equipment is clean and functional.
• Perform incidental housekeeping or maintenance tasks to maintain a hazard‑free environment.
• Other duties as assigned.

• State (Texas) certification as a nursing assistant.
• Complete familiarity with the duties of a certified nursing assistant.
• Highly developed observation skills.
