The RoleAs a Cost Accountant you will join the Finance Team and work under the direction of the Controller. You will collect and analyze data, estimate costs of new and existing product lines, and prepare regular reports. Your success will be measured by exceptional attention to detail, consistency in routine tasks, and a strong desire for continuous learning.
Your Responsibilities- Collect and analyze data about a company’s operational costs.
- Develop overhead rates and absorption.
- Analyze and estimate costs of new and existing product lines.
- Analyze item cost and ensure accuracy.
- Analyze manufacturing variances.
- Ensure compliance with accounting and financial reporting standards and regulations.
- Identify and recommend cost‑effective solutions.
- Conduct physical inventories and monitor the inventory system.
- Reduce obsolete material and inventory excess.
- Assist in audits and general ledger preparation.
- Forecast and plan future purchasing costs according to fiscal needs.
- Create and maintain account reconciliations to ensure the accuracy of financial statements by required deadlines.
- Review account reconciliations prepared by others.
- Assist with preparing the month‑end intercompany balancing report for corporate reporting and communicate with international units on variances.
- Assist with completing monthly and quarterly indirect (sales and use) tax filings and research with the Tax Team.
- Assist with the creation and maintenance of policies and procedures.
- Assist in the consolidation of global results utilizing the TM1 reporting system.
- Assist in the yearly audit and tax return preparation.
- Perform various projects and analyses as required.
- Demonstrate a commitment to continuous improvement and multi‑disciplined problem‑solving.
- Work individually and as a team to develop and maintain cooperative and productive relationships with employees at all levels; conduct team assessments and develop training to ensure capabilities are in place.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area free of excess materials.
- Support and involve in company, department, and safety policies, procedures, programs, and activities.
- At least 2+ years of professional experience as a Cost Accountant or in a similar role.
- Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance, with a specific focus on cost accounting.
- Excellent knowledge of risk analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Robust account reconciliation and analysis skills.
- High level of integrity and ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
- Detail‑oriented with a commitment to data integrity and accuracy.
- Results‑focused, self‑motivated, flexible, and adaptable to complete assigned tasks.
- Strong computer skills and knowledge of accounting software programs.
- Proven ability to communicate clearly and effectively in a professional business environment, verbally, electronically, and written, with cross‑functional teams.
- Knowledge and experience in MRP/ERP systems; experience with MS Dynamics ERP is preferred.
