Job Description

The Senior Accountant, SEC Reporting is a key member of the external financial reporting team and will work closely with the Company’s Senior Manager, SEC Reporting, Vice President, Reporting and Technical Accounting and top management team members. The Senior Accountant, SEC Reporting will be responsible for working with the Senior Manager, SEC Reporting to ensure regulatory compliance with SEC requirements, as well as other newly emerging FASB and regulatory requirements.

This position with support the preparation of SEC filings including financial statements and footnote disclosures, MD&A, and accounting policy memos. The role will report into the Senior Manager, SEC Reporting. We are looking for a candidate with exceptional communication, writing and reporting skills. The ideal candidate is comfortable in a dynamic environment, will bring energy and passion and will not be afraid to roll up their sleeves to tackle challenging assignments.

The Senior Accountant, SEC Reporting will collaborate with and work hand-in-hand with Senior Manager, SEC Reporting, along with the Vice President of Reporting and Technical Accounting, business unit, corporate tax, internal audit and treasury functions.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Prepare sections of the 10-K, 10-Q, and other SEC filings as assigned. Includes preparation and review of cash flows, statement of stockholder’s equity, footnotes and supporting work papers in coordination with the accounting organization.
  • Prepare disclosure and audit committee materials, as assigned.
  • Work to develop, drive and maintain processes for external financial reporting. Work with external auditors to deliver timely financial statements.
  • Monitor pending accounting pronouncements, analyze impact, if any, to disclosures, and provide proactive benchmarking of disclosure practices to management.
  • Assess and conduct research on U.S. GAAP and SEC Interpretive Releases, preparing position papers and amending reporting process accordingly.
  • Complete periodic work on share-based compensation, debt, derivatives, annual impairment testing of goodwill, intangibles and other finite lived long‑life assets; or other technical topics as assigned.
  • Complete required periodic reporting for the U.S. Census.
  • Participate and actively own elements of Sarbanes‑Oxley process, particularly in coordination with process owners.
  • Perform other duties as required or assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • CPA preferred
  • 3 plus years of accounting, controls and financial reporting experience.
  • Experience at a Big‑4 public accounting firm is required. Experience with a large‑scale company with more than $1‑1.5 billion in revenue is preferred.
  • Experience with Workiva is preferred.
  • SEC reporting experience, with fluency in U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting.
  • Experience working on Sarbanes‑Oxley and a world‑class control environment.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to multi‑task. Ability to manage to a plan.
  • Experience with mergers and acquisitions, a track record of financial due diligence and integration associated with transactions is a plus.
  • Proven history of establishing, documenting, and implementing well‑defined accounting and control procedures, policies, and processes. Familiarity with Six‑Sigma or Lean Finance concepts a plus.
  • Strong understanding of business operations and how they interface with corporate functions. Strong preference for experience within a manufacturing environment.
  • Exceptional communication skills, analytical capabilities, attention to detail, and ability to multi‑task.
