Job Title:CS Material Logistics Inventory Specialist
Location(s):Cary, NC (Remote)
Position OverviewThe CS Material Logistics Inventory Specialist is responsible for managing consignment, trunk stock, and tool inventories supporting the CX Field organization. This role provides inventory support, reporting, and analysis, and leads annual physical inventory activities in accordance with accounting and audit requirements. The position requires frequent cross-functional collaboration and a high level of accuracy, problem-solving, and adaptability in a dynamic, remote environment.
Key Responsibilities Inventory Management & Field Support- Provide inventory support services to Customer Service Engineers (CSEs) and partners via phone and online channels.
- Manage spare parts, tools, and test equipment inventories.
- Resolve inventory discrepancies, transaction errors, and workflow issues.
- Customer Administration
- Resolve service report errors.
- Process reversals for incorrect billings.
- Escalate and correct serial number errors related to the installed base.
- Memphis Returns
- Resolve return processing issues and errors.
- Proactively identify process improvement opportunities to reduce return errors.
- Research and follow up with CSML on missing parts.
- Additional Stakeholders
- Regional Service Managers.
- Customer Service Engineers.
- CS Material Logistics (CSML).
- Third-party logistics provider (DHL).
- Finance.
- Calibration provider (SIMCO).
- Customer Care Center.
- Tool Center staff.
- Coordinate and schedule annual physical inventories with Field Management.
- Execute physical inventory activities in a timely manner.
- Reconcile inventory across SAP, CSE records, and calibration systems with minimal variance.
- Manage escalations, recounts, and follow-ups with CSEs and management.
- Investigate and correct transaction errors identified during inventory counts.
- Resolve PO posting errors and tool order failures.
- Prepare inventory reports and analysis as required.
- Support audit readiness and compliance with accounting standards
- Strong problem-solving skills related to inventory and process discrepancies.
- High attention to detail, particularly for audit and accounting accuracy.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work productively in a remote environment.
- Flexibility and adaptability in daily changing workflows.
- Ability to multitask and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
- 5-8 years of experience in material logistics or inventory management (1-2 years considered for strong candidates).
- Associate's Degree required; BS in Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field preferred.
- SAP experience (modified or customized platforms acceptable).
- Microsoft Office proficiency, including Excel (basic lookups and reporting).
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Weekly remote team huddles.
- Initial in-office orientation required for equipment pickup and training.
- Holiday PTO schedules may delay feedback; suppliers should maintain candidate engagement during this period.
- Remote following initial onboarding; candidates must reside in the greater Raleigh-Durham (RDU) area for in-person orientation and equipment pickup
- Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM.
