Under general supervision and applying knowledge gained with experience, you begin functioning as a technical specialist. You continue to build on experience and gain more in depth knowledge working on larger and more complex assignments. You may start to expand knowledge into other disciplines and/or functional areas.

The foundation of BV Operations provides the ability to move where your skills are needed and allows for a collaborative and innovative culture offering greater challenges and career development opportunities.

• Execute structural analysis, perform calculations, and prepare sketches and drawings for the design of water and wastewater treatment plants, industrial facilities, and other complex structural facilities.
• Work within a team of Structural Engineers (both in the US and in overseas offices) to execute projects.
• Supervise Structural Technicians in preparation of structural drawings and specifications.
• Perform construction phase engineering duties such as site visits, responding to RFIs, and review of contractor submittals.
• Perform project administrative tasks, which may include any/all of the following: monitoring progress against budget and schedule, management of project changes, and implementation of Black & Veatch Quality Control requirements.
• Coordinate work with architects and other discipline engineers.
• Understand and follow departmental standards, systems, applicable engineering codes and B&V policies and procedures.
• Support continuous improvement efforts.

• Proficiency with use of non‑structural software packages such as Bluebeam, Project Wise, AutoCAD, and Revit.

Requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering from either a recognized accredited program in their home country or the country in which the professional is practicing. Minimum of 1 year related work experience.
